The shortest answer is to not rent from the guy if you aren't totally comfortable with him. If he's unorganized and has a short fuse, move along. It might not end well for you, or could just be a constant headache

You know, when I read the subject of this thread, I said out loud, "The OP already knows he shouldn't rent from this guy." Trust your gut. There's something seriously wrong with this picture - great neighborhood, great apartment, on the market for 4 months at ridiculously low price, weird landlord... You already know your answer. But I still don't know what ^^ means :-)

It is basically referring to the post above. They are meant to be like arrows pointing up.
