Alright so I am a maintenance person for two apartment buildings that my landlord owns. I live in one of the buildings. In the building I live in, they are evicting three units due to long term ongoing issues of cleanliness, vandalism and allowing anybody and everybody to enter the building. These three units just happen to be rented by Native people, so of course they immediately pull out the racism card. For the most part I stay out of it as I don't deal with tenant issues.
Today, however, I was outside spraying the lawn when I heard one of the tenants and her friend (who doesn't live in the building) exit through the front door. As they got closer I heard part of a conversation saying "...she's prejudice... they will watch this building burn down.". Now I understand it's not a direct threat that they are saying they will burn the building down so I don't really see the point in filing a police report. I did let the landlord know and she didn't seem all to concerned saying that she has been threatened before and it's all just a scare tactic. I sure hope so because I would hate for my apartment to go up in flames as there is an apartment building arson trend in this city.
