If you sent me photos or took photos with me at a walk-thru, I'd be thinking, oh God, this is going to be a problem tenant. If I was you, I would take photos, but just keep them in case you need them at the end of your tenancy. No need to get your landlord wary of you from the git go.
When I've needed my photos in court, as a tenant suing for my deposit, the judge never questioned when the photos were taken.
