Since your eviction was from a while ago, you should have good credit by now. I hope a good solid job too, making 4x+ the rent.
If you have bad credit, an eviction, lower income and based on the previous information likely a criminal record, you are SOL.
Look for downtrodden area where LL rent to lower quality renters. That is your best bet.
Sometimes a larger deposit may be done, but some states do not want you to put up any more than a month's worth of a deposit. They want to limit your options.

So why did you take a low paying job? Low paying jobs normally don't allow for nicer rentals, cars, clothes, etc.
You want nicer things? Get a better paying job that allows you to afford those things.
