If they fail to act on the repairs, follow the proper steps your state laws provides to rectify the problems. Do you have a copy of your state law? Have you been reading it?

I don't think anyone has suggested contacting the city health department concerning the bugs, the building codes department concerning the elevator with the exposed wire or the fire department concerning the lack of fire extinguishers, if they were emptied and not refilled.

We contacted the health department and requested that they come to the unit when the bug incident first happened. The guy stopped by the office and told them they were doing a good job and then left. He never looked at the unit or actual building. Not sure about the fire extinguishers... the fire dept showed up at 2 am when the building alarms went off from the extinguishers being taken out so I'd assume it got taken care of. I'm more worried about the residual foam all over the walls, stairwells, and in the elevator.
