Six months ago we ask a woman who was renting an apartment from us to move out because we caught her stealing. She moved out but since then she has been harassing us. I want to send her a cease and desist letter but not sure if it's a good idea. I have no experience with this kind of action. Does anyone know if this works? Thank you

Why bother with a cease and desist letter? If you have proof of harassment then file a restraining order.

Often what one will see as harassment is not harassment under the law so please read about what is considered harassment as it may be thrown out if it is not considered harassment.

What type of harassment? What was she stealing? The walls?

Filing charges that are false might be worse than doing nothing and ignoring her.

Is she a crazy person, a criminal with convictions?

Ever come across the expression, "engage brain before opening mouth"?

You might want to look someplace other than a real estate forum, as this is not a real estate matter, so far as I can see.

An attorney would be the logical choice.

Because I can't prove that it is her and her boy friend coming around at night. I saw her once but I know it's her the other times. I didn't want to go into a lot of detail and take up time for me and the reader. Thanks

Install done cameras to catch them. Once you catch them coming over constantly start calling the PD and reporting the intrusion/trespassing. Then you can file for a TRO and then a permanent RO. Either a TR0/RO will get them arrested
