They are going to jail if I am a resident and they are in the pool. It's not up to the manager. If you can't provide proof of that address, you're gone. People need to quit being mooches.
Going to jail. It is a renter building.
The landlord owns it not you. If it was a condo or coop I would say go for it.
Tenants often start to "nest" and start thinking of their rental place as if they own it and the landlord works for them.
Tread lightly. The apartment management already chose to 'do nothing'.
If you keep stirring the pot about weekend pool use(call the cops, contact mangement again, etc) it's possible that the apartment managers get rid if the squeaky wheel - you!
Yep, when your lease comes up for renewal they might give you notice to move out and tell you that your lease isn't getting renewed. One individual at the management office might have a chip on their shoulder because you made them do extra work to enforce weekend pool use. Who knows, maybe these are the leasing agent's friends/family using the pool and maybe this is why they are telling you they cannot do anything.
Seriously, you shouldn't pursue this any more for risk that you might be required to move out for being the complainer. They'll never tell you that is the reason.

ok..I guess that is an option....but it will probably end in more stress for you.
Or, you can do what everyone else does when they don't like aspects of their rental place......move to somewhere where you like things more.
Why should he move out of a place he likes just because mgmt foolishly allows trespassers? this problem has a simple solution. But mgmt doesn't have the will to fix it.
Hiring security on weekends to keep folk out would cost landlord more so how would that help you.
And picking on single Moms whose kids want to take a dip, really
Yeah, that's right. Better to teach the kids that trespassing is ok. Then look the other way when the kids chronically get arrested for burglary in their teens.
I live in a small town. This is the best apartment complex in town and probably the best place I've ever lived.
The pool thing isn't really that big of a deal, it just annoys me that someone is using a pool that I pay for. The city pool is right down the road, but it's crowded and costs money, so I guess they'd rather use our pool for free.
I'm going to call the cops one time and see what that does.
It is not going to do you any good to call the cops because you are not the property owner and you have no final say in who comes and goes from that pool. The property owner is the only one that can enforce the rules for that pool that they own. The only thing that you can do is continue to contact the property owner/management. You can not try to go above the property management to get rules enforced more strictly just because management is not enforcing the rules to your liking.
Unless, of course, the property management gives you approval to enforce it by calling the cops but otherwise, they are the only ones that can enforce the rules that they made for the property that they own.

That's a bit of a leap, isn't it? Look, I don't want to condone what these people are doing (assuming that they are trespassing in their minds,) but this rates right up there with sneaking in food to the Movie theater. In several cases, I have had friends invite me to use their pool. "Just tell them you're with Johnson in unit 403." I would guess that this is happening here. They don't see it as trespassing. They see it as being invited to use the pool by Mary Johnson in 403.

But it isn't right, and as a decent apartment dweller, I would never give that opportunity to someone. Either way, the dweller and/or the party using the pool, is mooching off the system.

I don't disagree with you, but that isn't at issue. What is at issue is that you likely have un-escorted but invited guests. Plenty of people think "I pay for it, and therefore if I want to invite my sister and nephews to use it, I will."
Why as a tenant are you worried about this. You Have reported it. Up to the office to do anything...could be these folks are Friends of the office mgr so they are Not going to do a thing! We have a apt near mine that has a pool the Office mgr there gave a neighbor of mine a free pass to the pool! Told her IF questioned just say she visiting. But Don't tell anyone the office gave them the pass! IF told the mgr would just deny it.
The tenants has every right to be concerned about this. He/she has paid a fee with rent to use the pool. There should be no freeloaders, including and perhaps especially friends of the office manager. The tenant may have been enjoying a quiet swim alone and now a mom and two kids get into the pool and dominate the area with noise and splashing.
Frankly, it reads to me as if you have sympathy with the freeloaders and don't consider it to be that big a deal.
