Take the lattice off at night. Find the nest and spray it. Easy peasy. If they are in a hole in the ground, put some delta dust in the hole. They will all be gone in a day.

I realized I never posted a conclusion to this. Just in case anyone is interested, we contacted the landlord, and they sent someone out to spray & kill the bees nest. All taken care of!

yellow jackets are wasps - and they are dangerous. One does not "move" a yellow jacket nest - one waits for all wasps to be in the nest (dusk) and then sprays the crap out of it until all are dead. Wasps have no predators - and serve no purpose - they don't pollenate anything - they kill.

I hate wasps as much as the next guy. Maybe more, since I do have an allergy to honeybee venom. But they certainly have a purpose, one being a predator of insects. Many of which are harmful to gardens and/or people. So they are beneficial in some aspects.

Realistically, we don't know if these were bumblebees, yellow jackets, or paper wasps. We have paper wasps and bumblebees around my house. I usually end up taking out at least one bumblebee nest a year with delta dust and Demon insecticide. Paper wasps are much easier.
