I've got a couple cameras on all my doors at my complex office but you could buy one and set it up pretty easily for home use too. They record when they detect motion or sound and the dlink ones have an app you can view the feed from. Just point it at the door and don't worry about it again.

I took your first idea with the camera. So thank you for the idea, just in time for when he may bring prospective tenants over without notice (24 hour notice required)
I have two laptops that will record any movement.

Thanks for the info. No need to buy a camera, laptop is capable of doing it, it records any movement and I can control it remotely.
