Now the place I am at (the hellhole) has a residency option in the lease

I want to get into a better building this coming year but cant take too much more of this place. I already have had to cancel a job interview because I got sick from only sleeping 3 or less hours every night for a week.

Our credit is not so hot because:
- family member stole s.o. personal info and ran up utility bills. Damage was done before we knew it (3500)
- he has backed student loans that his taxes go to
- old credit card bill charge off
- but has been at the same job for 5+ years

me:
-past due gas bill 180
-debt consol about to end soon to free up 50$ more
-pay all my student loans on time (3)
-phone on time
-credit card on time
-pay rent here on time/early

Now we are looking at a large multi unit complex with a company that has been around for almost 100 years. The building is old and review say its quiet. So I REALLY want it. I need it. the cost of the unit is going to be maybe 100 more than we are paying now. Plus my intention to start working again as the area has more places to do so. Do you think its going to be a problem getting approved because of the bad credit and wanting to cut out early here?

Any advice? I havent been sleeping and I am in a panic about being trapped in this place or some other crappy place again.
I'll go postal.

I already worked out a budget sheet to show the new LL our C.O.L.

If i get refused I think I will cry right there in the office like a d.a.

If we do get approved for March we would have to be paying double rent for 3 months. (here ends may 31st)

Please anyone say ANYTHING.

I cant take much more of scream sex while I am trying to cook dinner or clean or watch the snow quietly.

dont put all your eggs in one basket.

Even a step up to a better apartment while maybe not the best... is an improvement.

Take what you can, and good luck.

Walk in, tell them exactly what the issues are, and ask them if you should even bother to apply. Most places aren't going to want to run a check on you if what they hear doesn't fit with their standards. Be completely and utterly honest. Get your own credit report for free, and take it with you to show them. They'll still probably want to run their own but they should be able to tell you "no" upfront if there's issues.

Ok...I went to How to Get Your Credit Report for Free - wikiHow

Just to see what it was as I am taking steps to prepare for home ownership and the move thing.

My credit has 12 positives and 3 potential negatives.
Negatives:
-missed a loan payment for school but now current - made statment on that
-mistake - paid off phone bill - ships in the night went to collections- in dispute now
- gas bill - noted due to extended unemployment(as I am not sleeping here worth a hoot)

So I guess I was stressing myself out for nothing eh?
I mean...Thats not to bad is it?
I didnt get the fico score as thats a few bucks...But I am glad I did it.

Now for the s.o.'s once he gets home..
Not too sure how peachy that ones going to be.
