There was another post I don't agree with. No one should be listening to your conversation when you are inside your home. I don't care that the hallway is a public place. I agree with her husband with that comment and I agree with her concerns.
I know, but you cannot force someone to have good manners. The lady isn't doing anything illegal.

I think it is invasion of privacy. She need to be shammed and then she will back off.

I would be so tempted to make up stuff for them to hear. Maybe about an affair your husband is having with one of the ladies. Maybe about your space ship.

But do be careful. Aliens these days are not just the ones from mars.

You might have a tray of goodies set up and in the middle of talking, suddenly open your door and serve snacks.

Put out a bench...with a sign "listening bench".

It is not an invasion of privacy..how can you say it is? Their noise is drifting into the common areas of their building. If they don't want people to listen to their fights, they need to keep the volume down.

I like this idea, but it should be something really plausible, like the building is being sold to a developer and the tenants will only be given a month to move. Or one of the apartments is infested with rats, so everyone will need to go to a hotel while they exterminate....you get it.

LOL if you think the noise was that bad, don't you think I would've received a noise complaint? Or been talked to by management? I haven't. When people turn their tv up too loud, they get reports on that, along with anything else. I think you are rather fixated on the idea my husband and I constantly have arguments and we brought the nosiness on ourselves.

All the best to both of you!
Per your request, I do have an update to this. It turns out there is an odd rumor/gossip mill at my complex. I was informed by another resident who lives in the other building that people from my building have a way of finding and spreading information. This lady told me she heard from others in her building. I decided to see what would happen if I told the lady that there were people who'd listen within hearing distance of my door and it stopped very soon after. It is amazing how gossip can spread like wildfire!
