All you can do is to keep complaining. All requests for repairs should be in writing. Keep a copy of each request.

Leaks can be very difficult to locate. Also, in some areas of the country, roofers are booked solid until the snow flies. I needed a roofer way back in May and every roofer in town was booked solid until the end of November. Sometimes you just can't get anyone to do the work.

If it were me, I'd politely contact the handyman and ask for a progress report. Leaky roof is not a minor inconvenience; it does expensive damage to the building.

I'd give the handyman a reasonable amount of time to get to the roof leak and then contact the owner of the building. The owner might be unaware that his handyman isn't doing his job. That won't make the handyman happy, which is why you should give him a bit of time to work on the problem before going over his head.

Thanks for advice but problem with this and why it made me worried anxious is because water was at a fast drip coming out of light above my head when I am two feet outside my apartmernt door and the electricity is on and light is on while it was raining for two days and no one ever came to see. And the smoke alarm which I cant reach on hallway started chirping not sure if it was because battery got wet.

I did put it in writing with management and they sound like they will work on it and took it seriously.
