Yes, and if you signed a lease, they can go after you for the rent for the entire remainder of the lease. It's a contract. Be a little more thoughtful about what contracts you sign. Contracts make you legally obligated. You can't just decide you don't want to follow the contract any more.
There might possibly be a 1-2 day cooling off period for signing contracts. That's the only thing I can think of that might get you out of the contract, if you act fast enough.
