Aloha, check your county landlord/tenant laws. Had the same 'back and forth' w/ex landlord a few years back. You will probably find that you may submit your 30 day notice any day of the month and prorate rent accordingly.
Of course...LL hate this but, hey, it's justs as much your game as theirs, right? So, look into it, you may be pleasantly surprised.

It depends upon where you live. Many states that have a 30 days notice, the notice must include a full rental period. A few states are literal, 30 days from the date the notice is given.
