The Wilmont is a historic apartment building in Raleigh, NC. The City has deemed it unfit for human habitation but I live here! While no one can deny that the building needs to be fixed up. The residents of the building do not want to be “removed” from their homes. Please help support the residents of the building as well as save a local landmark.

Go to Save the Wilmont to sign a petition in support for the tenants and this historic building. We are hoping for 1000 signatures within 30 days.

If the city has condemned the property... no one should be living there... that's what condemnation means.

It's not unusual for a property owner to be in financial trouble these days and it could just be a case that the work needed is not economically feasible.

I've been doing some repair work on my house and I can't believe the cost of building supplies.. And I am doing most of the labor myself.

So maybe the cost of repairs to The Wilmont just can't be justified.. Repair work can cost more sometimes than just tearing down and starting over.
