If you dislike guns he has no reason to care about your opinion. Unless you know he is an ex-felon and not legally allowed to own one. But in that case you should call the police.
If you are afraid someone could get hurt then you should say, I asked you and you wouldn't tell me, but I just wanted to make sure if you do it is always locked up where no guests could ever find it.

like I said in the last thread, you should have stated in your roommate ad that you're only looking for devout Mormons. or at least a theology major. maybe a monk-in-training? a homeless nun?
jeez, if I was your roommate, I would have moved out long ago. unless I was there first, in which case I would have kicked you out. no offense, but as I've said before, you're no really roommate material. are you sure you wouldn't be happier renting a room at the YMCA or other SRO buildings where you're just renting a room solo?

I know I am not roommate material but at this moment in time I don't have much choice. I also can't go too small like a bed in a closet or a wino motel as I have equipment I need constant access too. Moving a lot of stuff into storage is just killing me. I guess I deserve all this for being the type of person I turned into.

If you don't like the "person you've (let yourself) turn into" then don't be that person.
I suggest you get a place you can afford alone, and possibly you could also find a new hobby. Perhaps indulging in reality for a change? Now there's change we can believe in..........

Long story short, this particular hobby is the only thing I like to do and has been my only company and companionship the last 2 decades. Once I can no longer indulge, I see no reason to stick around.

Why don't you ask to go shooting with him? Even if you don't believe in owning a gun, you could take the oppertunity to experience something new and get to know your roommate better. If you're really that into Obama, you might want to try engaging more with people who have different ways of living and doing things than you.

I'm sorry but that's patently ridiculous. 20 years into it and just this ONE interest is what keeps you "sticking around?" Buck up, get out of the house, take some long walks in the fresh air, find other things to occupy your time, stop wasting life. One little step in the right direction might seem insurmountable but you'll be laughing out loud when you realize that the difficulty was only in your own mind. Good luck.
