This thread dates back to 2009. Any particular reason why you've started resurrecting old threads?

Who really cares.. It is a issue that others may have isnt it. If you do not want people to be able to go way back and read and comment on old posts then get City Data to make that a rule. Sometimes the best conversations can come from a old post brought back to life.

If it's your house, it's your rules. If I were in the similar position, I'd evict someone that was afraid of guns and gun owners. Someone with a phobia of inanimate objects isn't someone I'd feel safe sharing a place with. And I won't live with a bigot that has predetermined opinions of others, based on their ownership of a legal product, and one that has accepted responsibility for their own safety. My choice, just as yours is your choice.

I think it was "Sh** my dad says" tv show I saw something that was really funny. He had a shot gun and a snobby type lady told him "Oh I don't believe in guns". So he goes "here look it is real see".

Recently found out that my roommate (sublet tenant not on the lease) is certifiably nuts, the biggest narcissist I have EVER met, AND a proud new owner of a supposedly "registered" firearm... so she tells me. Despite the fact the she is a SHE, she still scares me and I'm not scared easily AT ALL. I'm 6'2" 180, in good shape and am happy and willing to protect myself and all, but her personality just scares me.

I have nothing against gun ownership but her twisted logic, repeated verbal abuse via text message in a group sms with my other roommate (a sweet accommodating girl), which is both awesome and the weirdest thing because that's how crazy and "right" she thinks she is about absolutely everything. This girl just scares me and probably won't even be paying rent her last month here because she thinks that me telling her she needs to find a new place to live is just another way of me "being controlling" and infringing on her rights or something. I have been nothing but helpful and communicative and have not imposed any rules or pressure of any kind... that I can think of.

There's got to be something a tenant can do when you feel your roommate is crazy AND has a firearm in your house. Restraining order? Something! Any advice?

(....... Thanks for the "move yourself" advice Faworki1947, couldn't have thought of that option myself! Moving myself is not an option at this point. Regardless, she's already been kicked out. The reason for my post was simply to find out if anyone can share KNOWLEDGE OF LEGAL INFO CITING REPUTABLE SOURCES. I'm sure EVERYBODY is trustworthy and totally correct (not), but simple opinions don't really help too much. People want to share and ideally explore their rights here with other people input and experiences, not hear criticisms from the opinionated.)

your welcome fella...
Now then LEGALLY there is NOTHING you can do to her until she pulls the gun .. yup REALLY .. you can call police and ask them to run her for a permit but yanno cops will likely just laugh... oh I got the impression that she was a bit of a bragger and a story teller to enhance her "self image" so she is likely lying anyways.. but untill some one is tyhreatened or hurt nothing will happen .. I'm glad you got her out tho .. thats a plus ..

Are you on the lease or are you subletting also?
What state are you in?
Define the nuts and reason for fear as you describe it.

there may be little you can do, or there may be a lot you can do; all depends on the DETAILS (woefully lacking) of the circumstances.

Since you posted this in the rental forum, the answers will probably be answered from the landlord tenant, rental agreement, statutes side of things, not the political/socio/"cold dead fingers" rants over guns.
