We are moving this summer from Charlotte, NC to the Washington DC metro area. The mileage is between 425-490 miles from what we keep hearing from various moving companies, (I guess they're calculating driving around town when they rest overnight). Anyway, our quotes are very different, and I was just wondering what seems reasonable for this long-distance move. We have between 11,000-12,000 lbs of furniture/etc. to be moved.

So... around how much should we be charged from a moving company to move 11-12K lbs of our "stuff", for approximately 460 miles?

Anyway answers are appreciated!!
