DETROIT -- General Motors Co. will wind down its Hummer brand after a proposed sale to China's Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co. Ltd. fell through.

Tengzhong “was unable to complete the acquisition,” GM said today in a statement. The Chinese company was waiting for Chinese government approval of the sale.

Good point - it's a nitch that GM should've left well enough alone.

I agree many of the H2 & H3 were Poser-mobiles, but it's hard to beat the H1 for off road performance. I had one in the Army and those things were unbelievable in the field. If I ever hit the lotto and was in the market for an off road vehicle, a H1 would be my first choice.

We tested the H1s for firefighting purposes years ago, very capable and fun!

A bit too wide for 'wheeling' in certain situations, but I loved driving them.

The H2 & H3 are generally for posers.

Man... i just looked up some MPG ratings for the H2's. Talk about guzzling gas! About as bad as our old V10 Excursion yet half the utility! That said, if GM had the Duramax available in them they would be FAR more appealing.
