Just like folks who believe in a higher power bigger than themselves, huh?

not sure what you mean....
not very clear.

Also, can you stick with the original topic of the thread? (you know you can open a new thread in the "right" section if you'd like to discuss this issue further!)

So long as you have documented peer-reviewed proof that makes it nearly impossible to argue it's existence, then yes.

I have a pension.

I receive a monthly paycheck, statements, and annual 1099s.

I stand among thousands of others who are likewise retired.

If you wish to argue that pensions do not exist have a ball.

I am fairly confident that they do exist.

To argue that the thousands of retirees do not have pensions, seems like a losing argument to me.

I'll wait for your documented peer-reviewed proof that it doesn't exist.

My oh my! How on earth could this thread have possibly de-railed? Why would people be debating matters of faith? Why might some of us who have successfully retired early not be willing to share any tips, insights or words of support with you? What a mystery! How perplexing!

You know what? Since you call yourself Thinking-man, I have "faith" you might be able to come up with an idea or two if you put your mind to it. I'll even offer you a clue if you don't know how to get started:
1) Re-read the entire thread.
2) Pay particular attention to your posts, noting especially the tone and content of some of your replies to people who offered you free advice.

After you've done that, I hope you'll come back and share any theories you might have as to how this all got so off-track.

Later -- jm02

IF you followed their advice, you would find how much they DID contribute.

I contributed some, was going to contribute more, but due to your attitude decided not to bother.

I honestly wouldn't be reading this thread except for the amusing diversion from the guy who takes the time off from working to tell people to work!

The whole 'catch more flies with honey' thing....

I work overnights, Monday through Friday. The time that isn't filled with work, is wasted on the computer. Work gives a purpose, gives me "something to do", keeps the boredom away. And yes, if you're done working, you're done living, I don't care what you've done.

Yea, I contributed on the first page, but too opted out of further contributions once I saw the attitude. Today I added the OP to my "ignore" list, however, so I guess I'll never know if he solved the little quiz I posed since I won't see the posts. Ah, well, life goes on . . .

As for "the guy who takes the time off from working to tell people to work," I detect a bit of subtle irony in his threads. That doesn't often translate well on a literal forum such as CD. I get a kick out of his posts, as well.

Later, nameless one!
