What is the single BEST thing about retirement?

I started this thread because when I looked through the forum, entirely too many threads were gloomy.

That's easy. In the order of significance:

1. No supervisors.
2. No commutes.
3. I can live where I want to.

and did I mention, no supervisors?

Being more fully in control of your life as far as time is concerned.I really can't say I find retirement has had any disadvantages compared to working really. My wife loves it also. I really don't see posts here being gloomy; especaialy compared to what you read on the employment forums or others.

Retirement means you have control of nearly everything, you make and live by your own decisions.
