Or find a state with very easy residency requirements and no income taxes ... like South Dakota. The state has their own mail forwarding industry as the requirement for SD residency is one day of physical presence.

One 'overnight' per lifetime in SD (Income tax free state) + a residency affidavit (as in... "I'm traveling").
Campground / hotel receipt will suffice for the one-night-stay.
How to Establish a Legal State Residency (Domicile) as a Nomad – Two Meander
https://dps.sd.gov/resource-library/...idavit.pdf-501

Sales Tax Free MT has an entire industry for vehicle / boat / airplane registration.
Many vehicles get 'lifetime plates', so no need to return to MT for inspections / registration / licensing.
https://business.mt.gov/Business-Navigator/Start
$70 for a DIY LLC in MT (as in FILING with the state yourself!) I have several LLC's in different states, but not yet MT (little need for that when I drive a $35 car with a one time / lifetime license fee of $42 (Collector Plate... I only drive to parades and for Maint... I have 38 cars, so not need to drive the same one every day, or even once / month (when I am seldom home...))

but do it LEGAL... not just taking the 'bait' (please be discerning)

You have to be predisposed to living outside the American shell.
If you expect to just go and live there like an American, all you will do is retain the same cost of living with lots of new headaches.

If your travel experience is limited to 5-star hotels and gated resorts, do not delude yourself into thinking you have a clue as to what life is like outside the first world.

States are challenging that Montana LLC scam. Not to mention your insurance company can deny a claim once they realize what you did.

As mentioned... do it legally (which means you have MT insurance for your MT registered vehicle.)

Many use AK as well. (and OR)

This is article from site called AssetBuilder which was started by Scott Burns and his partners as asset management company. Burns’s articles as investment advisor are posted here and the guy they hired to replace Burns when he retired — whose credentials are different than Burns....you can search the article inventory and pull up variety of articles about living ex-pat
This one is fairly recent about Mexico “Is it Too Dangerous to Retire in Mexico?”

Absolutely SIMPLE to do it legally (if you qualify)
but do it LEGAL... not just taking the 'bait' (please be discerning)

Or.. use any of several other options to accomplish the same thing (states / businesses / transferred ownership...) and VERY possible to international residents to survive and thrive LEGALLY using MT ownership / SD Domicile - in fact... they (and me) PRECISELY fit the requirements!

If you are not gonna do it legally, or you are not willing to create another legal option... Don't worry about it...

Or be the snitch (every state will appreciate that)
Our's has a very active 'snitch' program (advertised on-line), but is no longer offering a 'Bounty'. (Darn)
They do Photo scan of traffic / commuters daily

So many HOA / ex-managers from hxll 'overachievers' (make-everyone's-life-miserable-types) will be very disappointed).

It's not the 90s anymore, Colombia is a lot safer/stable now and has been getting more and more popular with expats. Wonderful folks.

Previous years this thread was started, Colombia was not the same place as it is today. However, good point. Many countries change drastically in 5-10 years.
