We love the mountains of east TN. It might be a little colder than you like but the summers are beautiful. I love the small town living. There is no state income tax and property taxes are very reasonable.

We are located in a small town in the corner of 3 states(Va, TN, and NC). It is so beautiful here. My husband and I are building our own home and we just moved in last Wednesday. We have lived and traveled the country in our motorhome for the past 3 1/2 years and we "love" TN.

This is our story if you want to check it out:

Default Wow

Thanks for the link to your thread Younglisa7. I can't believe I read the whole thing in one day (my boss was not happy). It's unbelievable that you had the time and energy to document the building of your home. I am very impressed with your knowledge, skill and energy. Your views are amazing! Now I am rethinking the purchase of our retirement home in Alabama. My original plan was to look in TN, but was seduced by the Shoals area. Oh well, we're just a few miles from the border and can visit -- and we can always move. We're no stranger to that.

Much happiness in your new home. Your deserve it after all the effort you put into it.

What do you like to do? Move to a place where you can do it a lot and that offers what you like to do in the variety, numbers and quality you are used to. You won't notice the other stuff unless it impacts what you like to do.
