I can't verify if some are not true as you asked, but I can verify that a lot of them are true
I ask at every cash register I stand in front of ... it never hurts to ask!

That's a good policy to adopt; many of the places listed do not seem to make known that they offer senior discounts. I ask at every motel or hotel, and I'm going to start asking at other places as per your excellent suggestion. Thanks.

This is good. Thank you.
I have found since I have let my hair go gray, some places have just given me Senior discounts without my even asking.

Nice post, TekF. Since I've been in Florida, I've been asked if I'm 55+ at Bealls and Ross.

Right here in the bible belt, 10% senior discount on Monday's for spirits at our local package store. Now, that is cool.

You really don't need a list if you just remember everytime you make a purchase, no matter what type of business, to just ask if they offer a 'senior discount'. You'll be surprised how many businesses do. And with the economy in trouble today more and more are offering discounts to seniors, and/or cash offers.
If you can't remember to ask, do as I did, pick up a hat that says "don't forget my Senior Discount"
Some businesses like Home Depot and Lowe's offer a Mlitary Veteran's discount if you ask for it.

Why would anyone over 50 want to shop at Banana Republic?
