Noticed last year there were plenty of last minute "deals" and vacancies in RV Parks in FL, compared to the high occupancy in 2009. Wonder how the economy and high cost of gas will affect FL snowbirds this year.

The way we define snowbird is if you are from the north, come south to escape the winters, then you, my welcome guest are a snowbird. To relocate for work may not qualify for snowbird status but early retirees that bring their nestegg and black kneesocks would .

We would loosely define north as anywhere above NC. We (also as loosely defined) would be natives of SC and Ga.

oops, I thought for some reason we were defining 'snowbird' thus the definition from personal experience.
