Boulder CO or Santa Fe NM.

It's only the housing costs in these that give us pause. There's affordable housing (in Santa Fe, at least) but we'd get so little compared to what we have here. We have a lovely, spacious, well-equipped home in a divine and scenic neighborhood. If we sell here and spend the same amount in Boulder or Santa Fe, we'll have a house that's half the size ( that part's ok with us), in a so-so neighborhood with massively-downgraded kitchens and baths, no view, and a single-car garage.

Gosh - that's a hard one. Can I have a home in different places?

I'd choose: Alaska, New Mexico, and Vermont....well, I'm already going to Vermont - that seems to be the most economical for us....and it's really not that economical !

If money wasn't a consideration, I'd have two homes - one in Florida and one in Vermont.

have you ever been some place that felt really special to you? nothing to do with the view, shopping, architecture, etc.-most people would be unimpressed. I was in a place like that last time I was in Maine. I was looking for sea glass and found this little beach some where roughly between Camden and Ellsworth. Don't even know the name. But if money were not a consideration, i'd be there.
