LOL I find humor in that uncertainty.
When I was younger I thought "Jeanne D'Arc" meant the light was out in the bathroom.

No school on MLK day yesterday, but work for both parents, so we took the electric passenger ferry over to the beach. Lots of running trying to get a kite up without much wind, digging of holes and covering them back up, always on the hunt for treasures and a dolphin sighting.

I'm heading back with a book and no one to chase after later this week.

(Sounds like a nice day, jean_ji.)

For a mini second I didn't get the above joke. But lol. That's funny.
Reminded me of a stupid sign my dad made to remind us to turn the stairway light off -- "Outen the Light." Yep, that was supposed to be German. HE thought it was funny.

The weather was a bit strange here this morning. The fog was so dense and didn't lift until long after sunrise. I expected it to be very cloudy once it lifted, but the skies are blue with only a few clouds above the distant Patagonia mountains. Looks like it will be sunny skies until this weekend when more rain is expected. Yesterday morning's rain must have been snow on the highest peaks of the Huachuca Mountains as the highest peaks were covered in white.

Now I know why I almost never look at the Politics and Other Controveries Forum.

A thread title caught my eye there and I started to read. I won't identity which side was anti-Trump and which pro-Trump because it doesn't really matter.

Poster (on page two of thread, I believe): "Starting to smell feces around here. Why am I not surprised?"

Answer #1: "Try wiping your upper lip"
Answer #2: "Did your Depends diaper burst open?"
Answer #3: "Forgot to wipe yourself again, eh?"

The poster who had started to smell feces just continued blithely on as if nothing unusal were happening. Indeed perhaps nothing unusual was happening!

We think we have a problem here in Retirement with the occasional nasty-gram, and yes, it's a problem, but wow, just wow! How would you like to be the moderator of that forum? LOL

Three things I never discuss...Politics, Religion and Sex. Makes life with less drama, mostly. Now back to important issues, I ran out of butter for my pancakes this morning. Dagnabit!

Talking about money is also a no-no, at least "back in the day". Nobody will know what side I am on in politics because I don't let on.

I remember as a kid I asked my mother if we were Democrats or Republicans. She didn't want to answer! I didn't even know what it meant at the time. To this day, my feeling is my political views, for the most part, are my own. Good way to break a relationship.

I feel strongly about politics but I never discuss money. It just seems rude and not anyone's business. At least politics is concerned with values and is open to discussion. I might learn something (I do listen to the other person) and if the other person listened, they might learn from me too.

Update on the boy waiting for a heart:

His mother posts updates on a website every couple of weeks. The one for approximately mid-January tells that he had a birthday in the hospital, his tenth. There was a nice celebration. He has now been in the hospital for three months. They don't know if a heart will become available tomorrow or a year from tomorrow, but the mother said his heart has "stabilized" for the time being. The family is being well supported by friends, neighbors, relatives, and church members. I am pleased to be a very small part of that.
