Oh Barb that is good news indeed. You'll have AZDB nearby. I'm sure you'll get through the sorting by picturing your new place and what will fit and what won't fit.

Déjà Vu

There is a current thread in the Great Debates Forum (and I think it's appropriate there because it is a good debate around a significant topic) entitled "Too old to enjoy". It reprises so many discussions which have taken place here in our Retirement Forum. Perhaps some of you will be interested, or not.

Got a brief visit from AZDesertBrat. Was so enjoyable to sit and chat for awhile and have a few laughs. Hope the rest of her trip goes smoothly and that she is able to meet up with her friends and family.

Hi there! Had a good time and hope to spend longer next time. Had a full schedule to meet.

I got to Rio Rico and guess what...still didn't find my friend. Even got directions from a GPS! It named a road that doesn't exist apparently. Oh well, had some fun dinging around Nogales and vicinity. It was a beautiful drive through Sonoita and Patagonia. Guess I'll have to write him a letter.

Spent Fri. night in Florence. What a place! I think the entire town is nothing much but prison complexes and agriculture. Good to see so much of that still around though. Oh, Florence isn't ALL prisons and I picked a BUSY weekend to be there. They were having their annual Historic Tour. Streets blocked off, high dollar parking...if you can find it!...and BIG food trucks. Yikes! I haven't seen my brother in 16 years and didn't realize it had been that long. I thought more like ten. First thing he said to me was, "You got old!!!". lol Well, I suppose 16 years does do that to you. He has too and is six years younger. It was good to see him though.

Spent last night in Payson and got to visit with some old friends. This morning when I got to the Camp Verde junction I couldn't decide whether to go left to Prescott or right to Cottonwood. Right won and I'm home right now. I'm going to Prescott tomorrow and come home Tues.. Back to work on Thurs.. In the meantime it's good to be out of that moving vehicle! lol My car did really well. I put a total of 932 miles on it...mostly freeway and open roads...and averaged 32 MPG. Not too shabby!

On the third day of good long soaking rain. Really enjoying this weather. Got nearly a half inch now, which for here, is a lot.

Thank you. That's very nice. Hearts to you too! For Valentine's Day, I just forwarded to my sweetie plane tickets to Rome. She's really been wanting to go to London, so I picked a flight that will allow us to spend the afternoon and night in London before flying on to Rome the next morning.

Only downside is that escrow on my new retirement home closes two days before we fly . . . and three states away. Looks like I'll have to pick up the keys after I get back from Italy.

Can't count how many times I've been to Italy. Going to have to figure out how to live there part of the year. It's "Disneyland for Adults", and with the recent price increase at Disney, almost as affordable.
