^^^^^^^^^^^ The laundromat I have used is Colonial and they still want money. No electronic cards (yet).

The laundromat? HERE? I would have to bring my AR15 with me, then wash my clothes after I washed them there. EW.

Thanks for the update. She posted in quite a few forums. I was wondering what happened to her.

This Irma is huge -- so many are in the path of destruction and trouble. And Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are U.S., as well as Florida and onward/upward. I hope we can get people the help they need as soon as possible. Have some friends fairly close to the water in FL, but no one living along the beach. One daughter in Norfolk, but it is sounding more like it may hit worse further south. Still haven't heard what they will be doing with the ships up there. I know a couple are out now, bound for TX but told to station near FL in case they are needed there more. So glad we have first responders and ordinary folks ready to help one another.

Anyone hear from MMoB? Hope he's okay!!

The 10-year-old boy has received his new heart.

I just learned that the 10-year-old boy who had been confined to the hospital while awaiting a heart transplant received his new heart two or three days ago. All is going well. I am delighted beyond measure. He has been in the hospital for about 10 and a half months. I do not yet have information on how soon he can expect to go home.

So much to keep up on. I will have to re-read everyone's posts but for now let me say it was a tough drive & I was exhausted when I finally got here on Friday @ 2:00 pm.

I am thrilled with my new apartment. A washer & dryer in the apartment, a sweet patio outside my front door, an actual bathtub (the old apartment only had a shower). I've taken a real bath every night - that's how much I missed a bathtub.

I love,love,love Arizona.

I was amazed at the prices in the stores too. So much cheaper than Minnesota. And everyone I've met is so friendly.

So glad I took the plunge & moved here.

My apartment is also handicapped friendly & it is so easy for me to get around in it. Didn't even realize how much of a difference it would make until I got here.

How exciting for you! Glad you are happy with your move - I was worried when we didn't hear from you.

Can you have a cat?

Welcome to Arizona, MEO! Moving is a tough job, so do try to get some rest. So Umbria is asking if you can have a cat [I'm thinking you said you can]. So maybe we should have a City-Data contest! When will MEO get her Kitty?? I'm sure you will be rescuing some Kitty pretty soon. It is so nice that you have Deelighted so close by, and help you learn about the community.

But first, get some rest!

Escort Rider, so happy to hear that the 10-yr boy has a new heart. And at the same time, prayers and thank you's to the donor family. Thank you for sharing that news.

And I did hear from my friend who lives on the island of St Kitt's. They made it through okay, but he was trying to help one of his employees find a new rental. That family had their roof blow completely off in the hurricane. But they are alive and safe & well. He said the near by island of St Martin had more damage.
