If I'm not in a hurry, I will even chose the lane with the most interesting looking people ahead of me, even if it's longer.

Really sorry to read this. Things do seem to happen in clusters. Wishing you healing treatment and recovery.

DH flew to NY today. We got a cash offer on our house there, even though it wasn't for sale. He's meeting the buyer and seeing our lawyer while he's there. He was going originally to take care of a breaker problem on the electrical panel, have the furnace/boiler serviced and check things out before winter sets in.

He was taking some Starbucks Via instant coffee with him and I told him to take an unopened package of Peet's Ground Sumatra with him too, we still have a French press there. He was only taking a carry-on and put it in there. He just got into Laguardia and called. He said he was pulled over in security for special consideration as they ran swabs over the package of coffee checking for chemicals and/or explosives. Apparently those 12 oz vacuum-packed blocks of coffee look like C4 explosives under x-ray. Oops!

Having a nice Sunday today! It started out with cake and coffee to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of our church, Sunday School class, and then church. After church was a potluck with an International theme, so it was close to 2:00 before we got home. Then we caught the football game, and Hubby's favorite, #11 Larry Fitzgerald, made the winning touchdown in overtime. Nice! [Hubby thought both teams played bad today, but nice to get the win].

Weather here is warmer again, but the humidity is lower, which helps a lot. It is kind of confusing to see FB friends and relatives post pics of people in sweatshirts when jackets and sweaters are not even on the horizon around here.

Hopefully a quiet week -- we do not spend a lot on entertainment, but make up for that in medical expenses, two specialist appts coming up this week, too. Co-pays all going up next year. I will be looking into signing Hubby up for his initial Medicare. We are going to a presentation at our local library this week, if they will let us in without signing an agreement to have them write a policy! We just want to learn right now.

Thankful to see that Air France airliner made it back safely after the engine blew! Anyone else see that pic on the TV? About 500 people on that plane!!!

Sitting here Monday morning watching the horrifying news in Las Vegas. 50+ dead, 200+ injured, those numbers likely to go up.

Jean -- I hope your Hubby's trip goes well. It is kind of perplexing/emotional to receive an offer on a long-time home, not matter what the circumstances. Especially an unsolicited one. An out-of-state move is difficult. I am thinking of you and your family, and hoping that all goes well with this next step, or perhaps it does not happen now. It is an emotional time, and I wish you & Hubby well.

Going to a Memorial service this morning, for a lady friend's husband. Don't think he was all that old - maybe 60's-70's, from what I know. She lost her mother in July; so hard to lose Mother and Hubby so close together. Just want to be there for support...and, of course, it is the after-support that is so important --- the out for lunch and a movie 2-3 months down the road, and not forgetting someone who is grieving. Not everybody has a big, loving family.
