Thanks, nygal. Even though I made up my mind quickly, there was a lot of research. Glad I took that time & so glad I moved before winter. I don't think I could have taken another one.

Marigold seems happy to have a home. She slept next to me last night & used her litter box so I'm happy. She's very affectionate.

To each his own.

It seems you hardly ever find something positive to say.

paradise is an extreme term that can be applied to very few geographic locations or situations in the U.S.

A place does not need to be termed a 'paradise' in order to make it a place one desires to move to or a place one finds satisfactory or nice or enjoyable.

Using the term 'paradise' puts a place in a category that does not really exist, except for possibly a few geographic locations in the world or U.S. (as opposed to solely the U.S.) depending upon one's desires and even then, a place will often have drawbacks.

You often mistake analysis and discussion as not being positive (or analysis and discussion as being useless.) These forums exist for analysis and discussion.

Without analysis and discussion, these forums would be extremely boring and empty. Squelching analysis and discussion does not make for a curious mind or a life of curiosity.

Discussing ideas and examining ideas (or actions or opinions) is not being negative - it's why these forums exist. These forums exist for examination of ideas. And you resorting to personal attack is not necessary nor is it even accurate.

matisse12: You have missed the point completely.

Paradise to you must be very complicated.

Other people feel that the place they love being in that has all the features they want and love is THEIR true paradise.

So very sorry you do not understand this.

Anyway, Jim, that was a wonderful picture--and there it was, right next to you!

Meo, congrats on the cat. It's nice that Marigold has a good home now. I would feel sorry for a cat that was stuck in a shelter since May. So many people only want a cute little kitten but a five year old cat still has many years ahead. After all, they DO have those NINE lives, lol.

Meo, you have indeed found paradise. A lovely home, new friends, no more bitter cold and a darling cat named Marigold that stays by your side. That is just too cool! Congrats!

I usually tell myself not to sweat the small stuffs and it's all small stuffs but not this time. Just got the horrible news that my beloved daughter was diagnosed with IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma) stage 2 breast cancer on her birthday (yesterday). It has spread to a lymph node. The average survival rate for IDC is 63 percent for 5 years.

I only personally know 4 women with breast cancer. Two survived and two died. The unlucky ones were my daughter age.

Both my husband and I wish that we could have the cancer instead of she. We have lived long enough. She is at the prime years of her life. Oh well, whatever it is, it is. We will just try to do our best to support her.

We are thankful that she is living in her 'paradise'. She has a great job which she loves. Has a beautiful log cabin home in Boise with plenty of outdoor activities, near many incredible places for hiking, camping with her fiancée and their 3 energetic dogs.

We are also thankful that she knows how to live a balanced life early in her career and found a life partner who think the same.

So all I could say to my fellow CD forum posters is to enjoy whatever good things that you have now be it your health, your loved ones' health, your animals, what you think is your paradise, your good attributes or whatever. You never know what tomorrow will be like. Good luck to all.
