Thank you for posting this.
The line between privacy and appreciating that others care can be a narrow one, I hope we didn't cross that with Curm.

Tough game 7 of the World Series last night, I really wanted my Dodgers to win it all.

And here at our house we were rooting for the Astros, since they had never won before. But it was a fun series to watch -- lots of home runs and skillful playing on both sides. Even so, I was remembering the thrill of a lifetime that happened last year, when the Cubs won. We will never forget that one!

Just saw this--what good news! As long as we know he is ok, it's okay that he takes his time coming back to talk to us. And it's totally understandable that he not come in until he is ready.

Thank you, ER.

His latest squeeze? He just lost his wife a few months earlier. I am unsure what to make of your post, even jokingly, because you are a regular poster I enjoy. But I am perplexed with your comment. Seems a bit unusual for you to post this.

Here are the updates on our daughter's condition:

The bad news was that after the MRI on the other breast showed anomaly, her chemo was delayed waiting for the results of the 2nd biopsy (which was also delayed due to scheduling and just general bureaucracy and human errors). The result showed cancer of the same kind but in the very early stage (in situ IDC). There was no chance that it was spread from the other side. What this means is that she is very cancer prone so double mastectomy will be done after chemo followed with radiation.

However, there are many good news. Since the second biopsy showed the same triple positive type of cancer, her chemo treatment of THCP started last Tuesday (two months from the time she discovered the lump!). We were bracing for all the horrible side effects but with the help of preventive medications she has not suffered nausea or any digestive issues as of today (the 4th day after chemo). She only feels tired and could not sleep too well.

If she does not feel too bad this weekend, she plans to go back to work on Monday part time first to see how it goes. She is on a standard chemo treatment with one day of TCHP infusion every 21 days so there is a good chance that she could feel more normal in the 2nd and 3rd week of each treatment.

I am glad to be in retirement and could be with her as long as needed. We flew to Boise Tuesday before last when her chemo was supposedly to start. The delay made us all very anxious but we made the best use of the waiting time with trying out new recipes, gourmet foods, visiting farmer markets and hiking in Boise foot hills. I was pleasantly surprised to see beautiful fall color leaves on numerous deciduous trees in Boise. The weather has been very pleasant and consistent, low in the 40s in the morning then get up to high 60s in the afternoon. It's a bit cloudy today with rain forecasted for the next few days. This is much needed since it has not rained for a while and the air is super dry.

We may go back to NY after her 2nd chemo session if we think they don't need our help then come back in April when she has the surgery.

BellaDL, Thank you for sharing about your DD; bless she is to have you there. Prayers continuing.

Latest squeeze; Heard tell, when one is happily married; men especially? will remarry shortly after a spouse dies. Having been on the Grief and Mourning? Thread, for me there are no rights or wrongs. For example, one Post on the Thread "When Do You Remove Your Wedding Ring?" Everyone is different in different situations.

People may have thought I didn't react enough when my husband had his accident, closed head injury, brain tumor---upshot, he lived another 25 years !

Oh! When I opened the blinds at 8:30 a.m (dark till after 7:30 am) SNOW !!! on the Oly Peninsula! In 24 yrs, do not remember this early !

BellaDL, thank you for the update on your daughter. I'm glad you are retired too and don't have the stress of helping her and trying to work too. It's hard not to think your buyout came about for a reason.
