Peach orchards closest to me are 100 miles away, don't know. Well it only got to 33 this morning and of course, howling wind, so no hard freeze.

Here in the Phoenix area the wind has calmed down today, more or less a gentle breeze and very pleasant temps. An absolute treat, weather-wise. I know a gal in Iowa getting slammed with the blizzard, and another gal in Arkansas where they experienced the tornado warnings the other day/night. And those fires in Oklahoma have been terrible. Lots of crazy weather in some places.

We complain about 70mph winds in Las Vegas. Here's a report from Iowa, where I lived until retirement. And it is just part of the craziness they are experiencing.

The weather service estimated that wind speeds were between 70 mph and 80 mph, in addition to hail between 1 and 1.75 inches in diameter.

It was sunny and 60 yesterday so, must have been over 100 dirt bikes and 4wheelers racing around all day, and of course on CLOSED areas next to me. The noise and dust was awful. Last night drunk teenagers racing back and forth until 3am. And this morning the dirt bikes starting up again. And someone shooting a high powered rifle behind me.

Another wonderful weekend here. Can't wait for Monday when the little jerks go back to school and work.

I get numb to it. Weather is warming so every weekend will be like that here. These animals care nothing about the people who live around here or staying on the trails and protecting public lands. I will walk back there Monday morning and fill two or three trash bags with beer bottles and assorted trash. In summer it's every single day, along with 100 degree temperatures and blowing dust.

Will be so happy when this cold front arrives tonight and it snows.
Sounds like some wild weather. Is that something that you get often where you are?

Stormy weather is making its way down to us today. We went to the jetty this afternoon and decided not to walk it. There was one lone fisherman braving it. The jetty will likely be closed later as the waves increase along with chances of being swept off.

It's a county/forestry road. Not patrolled.

JRR - It can be snowing in the morning and 80 degrees in the afternoon here, or vise versa. Or very pleasant one day and howling winds the next. Where I live it's pretty much windy all the time.
