There was a memorial service in Cookeville yesterday. On my way back I stopped by City Hall in Algood where I live and where the Algood police department is located. Popped in for a minute and thanked them for their service.

Went to the movies today to see the latest Avengers flick. Not really my cup of tea, but my wife likes them, so off I go. Another hot day for us here on the Highland Rim. Record temps in the area for this time of year but looks like some showers and a bit cooler for the next few days. Hoping for a nice evening on Thursday, as there is a concert scheduled for the park in Cookeville.

My wife is subbing today, tomorrow, and Thursday. She gets to be the PE teacher.

Leaving Friday to go to a memorial service for my ex's aunt. Taking my grandsons. Chance for them to meet extended family.

This is small town Tennessee; they just smiled and said thanks. These are the guys who send a car over to escort the area kids when they decorate their bikes for July 4th and have their own parade on the streets of our neighborhood. Kids love riding behind the patrol car with all the lights flashing.

I had to shut off some breakers last week and found the electrical box needed updated with its labeling of circuits. I put it in a request that the box be relabeled. DH undertook the task this weekend. I had no idea it would be so involved, but then he went above and beyond. I noticed all the outlets and switches are now sporting little plastic labels corresponding to its breaker in the box.

It’s not exactly HGTV, but he’s so proud of himself, telling me that is what he sees in the sites he visits. I didn’t have the heart to point out we aren’t a business site. While I can see where they would be quite useful, they really have to go. I’ll let him bask in his brillance for a while though. Who knows, maybe they’ll grow on me. Too bad I had my recent cataract surgery, I probably woudn’t have noticed right away.

^ reminds me of when I had to replace an electrical plug here. The landlord labeled the electrical panel wrong. After I got up off the floor and got my heart started again, I shut the whole house breaker off, bought a new voltmeter and relabeled the panel correctly.

Send him up here. My house was rewired with a new electric box about 10 years ago. I recently discovered that few, if any, of the circuits were labeled correctly. I only relabeled a few before I grew tired of running up and down the basement steps to see which outlets were turned off.

The little stickers on the outlets sounds wonderful.

I agree! Don't ask him to change them!

Our house is also a disaster. I plan on doing labels but under the outlet and switch covers. Think about it. If you are going to work on one you will be removing the cover so put it there out of sight. Pretty much everything in your house has an outlet or switch controlling it so this method covers it. Have him remove them for the front of the cover and put them inside.

For instance we have a water softener that is the only thing on a circuit. The switch in the box is labeled Bedrooms 2 and 3. We live in a two bedroom house! Another says bedroom 2 and hall. It does indeed control those, but it also controls the hall bath and a set of switches by the front door. Aarrghh!!!
