My new home in Henderson has mislabeled breakers. I finally made the builder send out a separate electrical contractor to map the entire house -- 600 amp service with 3 panels. I also made them do a map of outlets controlled by GFCIs and all the AFCIs.

"Hey we need these breaker boxes labeled".

"Okay, who's the least literate employee we have"?

AFCI's. Never knew about them, but I think I'll be adding them to my box a couple at a time.

Or do what my dad used to do, unscrew the blown fuse, put a penny in the socket and screw the fuse back in.

We weren't supposed to do that but sometimes we did.

I have to vent. Sorry, I know this is probably not the politically correct place to do it, but I am too upset to search for what that could be.

I live in central New York state. Very recently a 3-year-old boy was flown into one of our hospitals from another area. He had been horribly beaten. From top to bottom. I'm crying thinking about this. 3-years old!!!! His stepfather called 911 to report the child had fallen downstairs. When the police arrived, it was quite evident that was not the problem. Child was unresponsive, extensive injuries (new and old) all over his body, evidence of beating on his head. Stepfather had used a belt.

Hospital showed brain bleed, no brain activity, failure to breathe on his own. He was put on life support. The biologic father showed up and made the decision to remove life support and the child died. Stepfather and biologic mother are facing a multitude of charges including murder. It has gone to grand jury.

In reading a separate article about this same "family", when the child was 2 years old, cops were called for another domestic problem and the police found the boy vomiting and not being able to stop. That was one year ago.

I think the people who do child services in this case need to be charged too. How could they determine the child would be safe by sending him back home. I'm very unhappy, sad, angry about this. I know this happens everywhere....... adults acting worse than animals....... children being murdered.

But I will NEVER understand it.

Thank you for letting me vent.

^NYgal1542 - I know this is upsetting, but honestly things like this happen all the time. In 35 years in law enforcement I saw things that would make you run screaming. Things done to children that are so horrific, I've seen hardened veteran officers, including myself, break down and sob. I too will never understand how anyone can harm an innocent child.

My only explanation is, there's pure evil in the world. I've seen it.

Thank you Jim. I do realize what you say is true, sadly true. I just got caught in the pain of it all and I needed to tell it.

If you can find a real person to talk to, please do that, it helps. I had a preacher once I talked to, he told me to go somewhere else, he couldn't handle what I told him.
