68 degrees here in SWFL this morning, with highs in the mid 80’s this week. The humidity is beginning to moderate too.

I have a bird of paradise getting ready to open its first bloom after planting it four years ago, which makes me ridiculously happy. We trimmed our bamboo yesterday and added to our collection of canes that are drying out. DH pruned my lemon tree and managed to cut off two green lemons, not bad. Dry season will be starting soon and all the plant growth will become easier to manage and less work. As we were cutting the bamboo, I asked DH if he could see us doing this when we are 80 years old. My eternal optimistic of a mate answered “Won’t that be great if we can?”

The grandkids wanted to know where Legos began, so we hopped on Google Earth to find Denmark and ended up all over the place, ending in Bali where the kids honeymooned with both sets of parents along. I went to the villa website and found out it’s for sale! Three villas, two pools and a restaurant for $680k. If it wasn’t halfway around the world and part of of Indonesia..... and I actually had an extra 680k.... I loved that place and dreamed of going back one day.

I see my luck hasn't changed. Out of TEN Megamillions tickets I didn't match one number.

I just bought one and didn't match a single number either. I can't imagine what one person is going to do with so much money all of a sudden.

My husband and I had a wonderful driving trip through New England last week to look at fall leaves. We loved our drive along the coast of Maine and in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Put 1,600 miles on the rental car in 6 days and saw lots of beautiful leaves, small towns and waterfalls. Had a fun time each day doing a few miles of hiking. We had rain, wind and even a dusting of snow on the trip. None of it bothered us as we knew we were coming back home to our Southern California weather. We can't wait to explore the area some more in a couple of years.
