It's 4:30 p.m. and 36 degrees right now. A lot nicer than 2. Though I think it was actually -1 degrees last night.

14 degrees this morning some snow patches and heavy frost after 4 solid days of shooting, roar from dirt bikes and 4 wheelers, it was quiet. There used to be a huge beautiful red fox around my place, it would follow us on our walks, not get too close but seemed to just like to watch us. Found it behind my place on the trail shot and skinned.

OMG. How can someone do that. What a beautiful animal to be so senselessly killed. All for the pelt.

It is a chilly day here in Tennessee. Currently 28 and that is going to be about the high. Chance of some snow flurries this morning.

I think I'll go out later for a bit. The local Kia dealer is doing a toy drive and my wife bought a couple of things last week that I'll trade for a free oil change. Also going to check on this bright orange recall card that I got yesterday from them for my Kia Sportage. I would be really concerned if I had a Sportage; I have a Sorento. Someone got their lines crossed.

I really like this time of year for the music. The community band did their holiday concert on Sunday and the brass arts at the university had theirs last night. That was a really fun one; it ran the gamut from Ave Maria and Mozart to the Chipmunks Christmas Song.

When I read what Jim posted about the red fox, it made me both angry and sad. People can be so despicable.

We are supposed to get some measurable rain here in San Diego starting tomorrow night. They are saying 1 to 3 inches to the east and maybe up to 1 inch at the coast. We really need the rain. The big concern is for the areas that burned up by LA and the danger of mudslides. More rain to come on Saturday. I love rainy days when I can be at home making a pot of beef stew and baking cookies.

Forecast single digits here for the weekend, I'm making my famous elk green chili and corn bread.

Oh, this will sound stupid, I buried that Fox this morning. Couldn't stand seeing it laying there and my dog would whine when we walked by it.

When walking back up my driveway from getting my morning paper, I looked up and saw two large ravens on my roof. They were either sharing or arguing over a piece of meat from something. I watched them for a while as one held it and the other tried to pull it away with its feet. After a few minutes they noticed me watching and one flew off with in one direction with the food, and the other flew off in another direction. They are pretty ugly birds up close compared to the hawks that also use my roof for eating.
