I understand why you stay, jim. Today I wish I could take off with the dogs and walk til I am exhausted, sit awhile and come home tired and hungry

Nothing really new for anyone here. But Venus is big and bright over Syracuse, NY.

Yes! I always love seeing Venus when we take the dog out for last call at night.

This is a real up and down time of the year for us. Today it is sunny and around 60. Forecast is for some snow Friday afternoon and evening. Sure keeps it interesting.

I’m finally surfacing from all things Christmas. The gifts are wrapped, cookies baked, a gingerbread house and gingerbread train built, a throw knotted together by the grandson for his Mum, a hat knitted by granddaughter for her Dad, and the house is cleaned and ready for MIL coming later today. I’m on cruise control now.

My Meyer lemons are ripening, so I’ll make a batch of lemon curd this morning and prepp things I can for our Christmas Eve dinner while DH is picking up his Mom. I’ll put a couple of bottles of Prosecco in the refrigerator later on.

We had crazy weather earlier in the week with wind, rain, tornado warnings and even hail, the closest the grandkids will ever see anything resembling snow here. That’s all done now and it will be 73 degrees tomorrow, so we’ll have our Christmas Eve dinner out by the pool. Good thing, the dining room table has a Lego Christmas village and train on it. DH got floating tea lights that turn on when they get wet, so the grandkids will have fun putting them in the pool.

I’d like to say I’ll kick back and relax after all this, but we pick up a puppy on the 29th. Christmas will likely look like a walk in the park in comparison. I’m ready for it though, bring on 2019!
