Got my first SS deposit for this year and it was a lot less than their letter said it would be. With the government shutdown, I cannot call and find out why

Anyone else get less than they expected?

Have not gotten mine yet. But I did sign up to have my Advantage medical insurance deducted from it this year. Any chance you did that, too, and just forgot?

Got a voice mail there are serious charges against me and the federal tax police are on their way to arrest me if I don't call this number and immediately obtain a gift card in the amount of $856.00.

Gosh better get to Walmart.

Hahahahaha.

Don't have Advantage. Amount deposited was over $50 less than the December letter stated amount

Wow! That is a predicament! This stupid govt. shutdown is hurting many people in a lot of ways. I hope to heaven things get better and you can get an answer. I'm not very knowledgeable about these things... I wonder if the IRS can help? At least with information.

Good luck and please let us know how it works out for you.

When I got my letter it also included the increase in my health insurance. The increase itself would have been nice but with the health care increase it wasn't much.

Yes. Mine amounted to a net increase of only $27.00 a month, but it is certainly better than nothing, and at least it will pay for more than a half-tank of gas.

Have you tried calling? The offices are still supposed to be open and not affected by the shutdown. Have you checked mysocialsecurity website to see if that shows any information?

Should have told them the Federal Tax Police are not working due to the government shutdown
