It's darned cold here in South Central MN. Just like the 50s and 60s. I hope the younger ones know about frostbite!

Yesterday the postman had little icicles hanging off of his nose hairs.

I finally got the phone call I've been waiting for. You who know me know how I miss never having grandchildren. Minutes ago the phone rang and a young male voice said, "Hello Grandma."

I thought for a moment it was one of my former classmates teasing me. Then I caught on.

Me: I suppose your in jail again.

Him: Why do you say that?

Me: That's usually when you call me for bail.

Him. No grandma. I miss you and want to come see you.

Me: I suppose you need some money.

Him: You gonna give me some?

Me: No. I'm going to let the cartel cut your ear off.

Laughing. I hang up. How the heck could that crude idiot think I had a long lost grandson with a thick New Joisey accent?

I'm always angry about these guys and hope they never hit that one poor vulnerable soul out there who's confused. It's despicable.

On Wednesday while the upper Mid-West was freezing it was still in the low 30s where I live. Boom! It caught us last night and even dropped down to single digits here in Philly. Still cold tonight but I hear it will be back to the seasonal 30s even low 40s by Monday.

...and someone said the groundhog did not see his shadow. I didn't even know it was groundhog day but if it's true, it means spring is coming. Of course it must be true.
