Jim, I live in metro Denver, and I could not agree with you MORE!!!

And we are going to the Monument Valley early next week and the high during our visit is supposed to be not more than 85! As you said, AWESOME!!!! (However, my fingers are definitely crossed!)

Jim, I am happy for you! Your weather sounds delightful !!!
We just heard our forecast [Arizona] and we will be having a cooler weekend [below 100], which is fine with us! This past week has been hot.

NYgal and Meo -- Glad to hear you are enjoying your homes!

Anyone doing anything special for the Longest Day Of The Year tomorrow? It's kind of a big thing here. They have free events all day long, starting with sunrise yoga at the beach, and ending with sunset kayaking and moonlight fishing.

What fun! The only solstice celebration I went to was on Orcas Island, WA. They had yoga demos, a nicely creative parade, oyster fries, and other things to do and see.

I'm going to a Scandinavian Midsummer festival near Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) starting tomorrow and will be visiting RMNP during the week. I read that it is a Nordic tradition to celebrate the summer solstice and is a national holiday in Sweden. Scandinavian music and dancing, raising of the Maypole, and Viking combats are scheduled as well as native food and drink (mead). And it is supposed to rain/snow the weekend at higher elevations in RMNP and rain some at the festival. I thought about canceling the trip but have already postponed it once and decided to just go with it. The park should be beautiful after the snowfall.
