Congratulations, Jim. I'm so glad to hear this worked out so well for you. And lucky you to have cooler weather.

I sure would like some of that cooler weather. It is going to be in the high 80s here and humid as heck. The bright spot is that in another six weeks or so, we will be starting the turn toward autumn weather.

Had my six weeks followup with my surgeon for my new knee and everything looks good so I got the all clear to start driving again. Last two outpatient therapy sessions are next week and then I am on my own to keep doing the exercises. Going to miss the therapy people as we have become friends over the last few weeks.

Jim - Are you still fairly close to the lake where you went trout fishing?

I already put a hammock up between two huge trees.
Well ok to no second dog (but maybe we can badger you and wear you down?).

Everything sounds so perfect for you and then you mention the hammock! I think there is no topping that one. Enjoy enjoy!!

Wow I remember 50 years ago today, I was at a county fair holding the hand of a beauty queen and as they said back then...dot dot dot.

Oh and a guy walked on the moon.

Oh and a guy walked on the moon.
Was thinking about that earlier today. It was a Sunday night. I worked a summer job at a service station, and closed up around nine. There wasn’t a car on the road going home, so I figured everybody was home watching the live coverage. When I got home my family was sitting around the black and white TV and Neil Armstrong was about to step down onto the moon’s surface. Wow! It was almost unbelievable.

Not so special to me. Although I was fascinated by some science fiction, for some reason the space program never caught my focus. I was 16. A friend had a sleepover to watch the landing, and just as they landed, my friend told me she was having an affair with her cousin. I had never heard of such a thing or what they were doing! and so I sort of missed that moment.
I still do look at the moon and think about it.

Didn't sleep well at all last night, kept thinking about things I saw during my career...couldn't shut my mind off.

In 70 days, I will get to wake up (on a Tuesday morning), look at the clock, realize that I'm RETIRED, and CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT (within my means, that is ), and will roll over and let myself fall back asleep. Or get up and cook myself and the dog a scrumptious breakfast. Whatever we want.

It sounds so delicious, I can hardly stand it!!!
