Watch out for The Swarm!
I don't recall seeing it here in Retirement but it's active in other Forums, some - like Pets - where you'd not be expecting it to attack.

It's the old "mob" mentality - just a new name for the internet. Much easier to deal with online - ba bye....

Revel in attacks against you. The more vitriolic and more personal the more you should be pleased; you've won the argument. When they have nothing to counter your ideas and attack you it means they have nothing left. The drug addict contingent refers to me as "Hateful in Wyoming". I love that name; I love being considered hateful by drug addicts; they've lost, not that they ever had a chance of winning.

re: retirees selling homes

Good news for retirees wanting to sell their homes now; reports are saying that real estate is on the upswing and that is certainly true in New England. Every time I search realtor sites for property I see "under contract" or "sale pending" more and more. Some realtor sites allow you to create email alerts for new properties and status changes (price reduced, sale pending, etc). Others allow you to see recent sales in a certain zip code and what the listing price was in comparison to the actual sales price.

Several years ago I noted a difference of, on average across the board, at least 10% down from asking price. I haven't tracked it lately, but the status changes being emailed to me are indicating an impressive uptick of sales activity.

In New England, listing a home this late in the calendar year is considered almost too late, though I have had realtors tell me that that rule of thumb—listing by April or forget it till next year—no longer applies. I would still guess that a seller is compromising an optimal sale by waiting till fall to sell, as buyers know they can put in low offers for desperate sellers the closer it is to winter.

So those who are concerned that they may not get an optimal price in selling may see things turning around now.

After what you have been through, being out in nature can be a healing experience. I do not know how to fish, but when I see a person out in mid-stream fishing within the great outdoors, I think how at-one s/he must feel with just the sounds of the natural world. I wish you a beautiful peaceful day in the setting you choose. I'm sure others here join me in this thought.

My allergies are at the worst today. We've had a few days of perfect summer weather but I guess nothing can really be perfect so in with the Clariton-D.

Twenty four days of rain????? I'd be dying. Allergies can make you really sick, dragged out, headachy, grouchy. I hope you get some sun to dry the mold out.
