My nephew and niece-in-law were right in the middle of it. She's a nurse, so she's down at the hospital helping out right now. Nephew says media is doing their usual panic job.

Same couple was driving home from their honeymoon in 1989 on Highway 880. Thirty minutes later, the Loma Prieta earthquake hit (a 6.9, I think), and the upper level fell on the lower level of the highway.

Now, to be very serious and nonpartisan, I ask that none of you give money to this group. It supports animal testing and you can imagine the kind of people who are willing to participate in that.

You must be the only one to feel that way. I cannot believe she keeps getting reelected.

LMAO

I haven''t heard anything on the quake except that it happened, so hopefully that means no injuries.....

HiW, are you talking about that Patriot party thing at the bottom of the photo? I have never heard of them.

The original was for Ann Coulter.

There have been injuries, the vast majority of them minor but there are 4 people with critical injuries including one child. One person medivaced to a facility with neuro specialists.

One vintner in the area lost his entire personal collection and was unable to check on his commercial stock because the door is pinned shut from inside. Lots of reports of loose stuff off shelves and counters as well as TV's and other things off the walls of many houses. Fires in two separate trailer parks and in one of them there were 3 units totally destroyed and several other with damage.

Some water main breaks have water dumping in to the storm drain system. A bank in downtown Napa has water pouring out from under its doors.

They have declared both an local and county emergencies so that the state can provide some assistance.

Lots of small aftershocks and that will likely continue for a week or so.

Just heard that it was the child who had to be evacuated with major head trauma.

No, not at all. I'm talking about the ''charity'' that's been collecting the millions for research with the "ice bucket challenge'' which I assume is the reference. The Patriot Party sounds like a bunch of good folks although I hadn't heard of it either.

I don't know how I dropped a sentence. That ''ALS'' outfit is all about animal testing which really means animal torture for the psychopaths who stand in line for those jobs. That's why my charitable contributions are 100% for animals.
