One of the largest and most prestigious art festivals in the world is currently taking place in Miami Beach: Art Basel.

And in addition to Art Basel, other satellite fairs are also operating throughout Miami and Miami Beach as part of what has been designated Art Week.

Art Week in Miami 2014

One of these fairs, NADA, is currently being held in a resort hotel just down the block from my condo. In fact, there is some performance art taking place right now on the beach right outside my windows! I'm sitting on my couch trying to figure out exactly what is going on.

We have been to Art Basil a few times. Once on a pro pass. It is an interesting experience. It really drives home the realization that to many Art is just a commodity. We actually enjoyed some of the outlying fairs a bit more. Mark Golden-- (Golden Acrylics) has some videos of this year's fair on Facebook. We did go to support some of our galleries.

LOL, MMoB, mom is currently attending the artbasel, she never missed it when stepdad was alive, this year is first time back since he passed in 2012.

{{{{{{{LibraGirl}}}}}}} nice to hear from you!!!!

Watching the rain change to snow. I had to get out the ginormous tree lopper/saw thingy and trim some branches that were messing with the satellite dish. It beats having to go shake off the snow on the branches for the rest of winter.
