OK, so where is everyone??? No chat news or news about moving alone to another state? You all must be very busy. Now that the snow has abated, are you all outside enjoying spring or what? For me, I am getting ready for my next hip replacement on Wed. and can't wait to get it over with. Just hope it goes as well as the first one.

So come on folks ! I will need stuff to read and am counting on you all ! Help !
PS Congrats to the winners. I wish I could join the club but not this time. Barb

What about YOU? You've hinted for years you want to move away....what's happening with that?

A lot of us up here are imagining AZ as a place to live. The hard thing is, we are coming into the lovely seasons in New England and seem to get amnesia as soon as the soft breezes blow and the crocuses pop up.

Best wishes with the surgery this week~!

Happy St Patricks Day everyone who's Irish! (Blarney, anyone?) Big parade and city road race coming up. Bill Rodgers, four-time NY marathon winner, is coming back for that. Lots of pubs will be hopping! I'm headed to a greenhouse flower show tomorrow, can't wait to soak up the scents and colors.

I can just picture that flower show, mmmmmmmm. Hope you enjoy it.

Out in this end of the state the snow is still high. It snowed again last night too. But it's melted enough so that I took doggie for a walk and when we got to the beach you could SEE over the snow mountains. You could see the ocean at last. So even though "they" are predicting more snow and freezing cold, spring will win out, eventually.

For several months I have been following the stories of many of you concerning your snowfall amounts and your extreme low temperatures. Well, I just wanted to let you know that we suffer here too. Googling just gave me the following information:

It has snowed ELEVEN times in Los Angeles since 1922. The greatest recorded amount was 0.3 inches in January of 1949.

Didn't want you to think we get off easy here. I even noticed some ice on the sidewalk about 15 or so years ago. The run-off from the automatic sprinklers had frozen overnight.

Wha-a-a-a-a--AA!!! Poor ER. We've been having great weather (for us) - high 60s and even 70 yesterday. Now it dips to the 40 -50 range for a bit but NO SNOW.

I do get to see how much clean up work I have to look forward to. Those few leaves that were left have mega-multiplied somehow.

I was going to invite ER over to do the spring doggy doo clean up - how fun!

Barb - hope all goes well with your surgery.

I have to comment on what a great neighbor this is turning into. A younger generation has moved in and people actually wave and smile when I drive by. Many of the old sour pusses have moved out - good riddance. They are all hanging out at a 55+ neighborhood near you.

Now that spring has arrived, we will put up with your comments of the warmth you receive, We'll then feel free to do payback when you are boiling & we are in summer breezes

Hope your surgery goes well and that you heal quickly. I'll be thinking of you as I pack some more!

We are <thisclose> to closing on my house. Just have to get the homeowners insurance nailed down and it's good to go. It's only been a month (the 13th) since I found and made an offer on this house but it seems like months! Inspections, appraisal, money and more money...but oh, so worth it. They had some minor things to fix and I bought a few pieces of their furniture.

I feel like I'm planning The Great Escape! I am! lol

I meant to ask Barb about her plans too and forgot.

It has been just fantastic here lately. I don't like to see it pushing 80 but I could live in 80 degrees, and 50s lows, forever. My view of the Verde Valley from work is really pretty, green and lush. I can see the red rocks of Sedona as well. In spring it'll all turn yellow and purple and the green will look like velvet come July and August. It gets hot here in summer but it's always pretty so it could be worse!
