But do you have his full name, his birth date? I don't know for sure, but maybe just going on those two pieces of info you might get somewhere. Do you know what country he came from? Or was he born here?

NYgal, ALL the records were burned in the fire. This was either late 1800's, early 1900's. There were no duplicate files in that time. Nothing, nada.

One of my great great grandfathers seemed to have dropped into Ohio from Mars. No amount of searching by me, by another relative who does genealogy very seriously, or by a genealogist friend in Europe has located him anywhere but in Ohio. And he has a a rather unusual name.

When someone changes their SN, all of their previous posts are automatically changed from the old SN to the new SN. The only exception is when a post has been quoted by someone else. That quote remains under the old SN.
