Instruct someone we know get onto our own computer or whatever device and announce it. I think of two longtime wonderful posters from years back (island-mermaid in Maine and knoxgarden in Knoxville, Tenn.). I don't know for sure why they quit posting but I seem to remember it was because they passed on and only those who knew them well because of lots of DMs or actual meetups knew. They were great CD contributors and are truly missed.

I've become friends on Facebook with several CD'ers. Often there is no need to remain anonymous.

Agreed! But the reality is that once I assume room temperature I'll be the last one to care. However, since I live alone I'll be posting notification instructions for when I reach my expiration date on a relatively prominently placed bulletin board in the home and for those who might care I'll include C-D. Makes sense since I hate loose ends.

Speaking of loose ends, anyone in touch with imcurious?

We drove from NY to FL over the weekend and stayed overnight in the South Park section of Charlotte, which was nice. The drive was easy since we drove one car, we left the other in FL this time. Never again with two cars, it's too much driving and too many long stops to get rested.

This is the first time we've been back after a rainy summer, the last two were drier. The bushes and plants grew so much, OMG! There is a fire bush with lovely orange flowers that is under our bedroom window. I keep the top trimmed and the bottom is trimmed two and a half feet off the ground. Before we left I had pruned the top even with the windowsill and it looked like a few branches with a couple of leaves left on, even I thought I might have overdone it. It is now two feet lower than the roof overhang and down to the ground covering up some other plants, amazing!

I've been weeding and pruning one side of the house each morning and taking it easier this year. I love working in the yard, but I need to do it early morning before the sun is fully up this time of year.

A tree fell into the yard a few weeks ago and we thought it was from the empty lot next to us that we bought this summer. We were complaining that of course it happened after it was ours, but when we got here we saw it was a tree from our original lot. This doesn't change the fact that it needs to be taken care of though, but made us feel better anyway.

I was friendly with an intelligent and charming poster from Oxford, England, who went by the name Mooseketeer. Used to call her "Moosey." Moosey just dropped out of C-D back in June of 2013 and haven't heard a word from her since.

I think a huge bulletin board in the foliage of the Ozarks could announce "Our Local Curmudgeon is Gone." That ought to make folks sit up and take notice.

Nah! This is the Ozarks. They'd shake their heads and mumble, "Curm what?"

Wow, jean; you guys left early still like summer here.

Screw the Ozarks, Curm, we love you. They don't know what they are missing. Besides, AZDBrat is going to have you for dinner one of these days so don't count on being a hermit.

I remember her!

It is distressing when posters we like just up and disappear. Can't help but think the worst.

We leave early every year. We aren't the only ones, the traffic is more than usual for this time of year.

We work in shifts with the other set of grandparents. They come in March and their visa is up in September, they are returning to England this evening. I wish we had more overlap time with them, we really like them. They are two years older and their wedding pics look just like ours with hair and clothing styles from the 70's, they are just in a different place. The differences and similarities are fun to learn.

I pick up the kids from school today, my shift is starting. The little one who was slow in talking last year is making up for it. Grandma K warned me he talks non-stop from when she picks him up and is still talking when his daddy picks him up. Both kids are in school and pre-school this year.

I'd like to say I miss seeing the leaves turn, but the 40 leaf bags I put to the curb every year temper that memory.
