We had some very strong winds tonight. A lot of areas lost electric power..... mine was out for an hour or two. Thank goodness for flashlights and candles.

I hate to say it but it looks like winter may finally be upon us. This recent (relative) warmth has been a delight but today's wind and rain and then next week's freezing temps may be a precursor of things to come. Somebody tell me I'm wrong.

I am, literally, surrounded by snow here. Not one flake here though. The Red Rocks of Sedona are really beautiful as is the mountain on the west side. It is cold here with highs from the high 40s to mid 50s the next 7 days. Brrrrrrr! We've had quite a bit of rain and maybe more next weekend. We need it and I don't mind the rain.

Gosh, I really feel for those of you who have such tough temps. However are you coming to handle those 40's or, brr, 30's? I'm just hoping we can get to the 20's at some point, but doesn't look like it will be soon.

I have lived in places that got down to -40 to -60 so I DO know what cold is. That's partly why I choose to live where I do. I will, for sure, never live where it gets that cold again. It's usually between 25-30 when I get up in the mornings. That's plenty cold enough. If I didn't have to get out in it I wouldn't care.
