Jim, that's interesting that they use age 64 for the age to start the senior rates. I've heard 50 [AARP], 55 or 60 [restaurants, etc.] and then 65. Good for the State of Colorado! Now I'm going to go check Arizona's fishing license age!

Re: The hunting and fishing licenses. My goodness! I thought this was a simple subject, but I was wrong. In AZ., at least, there are all sorts of licenses - Apprentice, Boy or Girl Scout, Disabled Veteran, Blind [free], Pioneer [age 70+ and proof of living in state 25+ years - free], and the list goes on. But I did not see a regular senior fee. Possibly I missed it. And, you do need a seperate license to fish on Indian Reservation land. Life is complicated!!!!

I'm very happy about saving $45 a year on my fishing license. AND my state park annual pass will go from $70 a year all the way down to $60. Wow! Ahem...anyway, also discovered a national parks pass will be $10 for life now.

I get a discount at Denny's and 10% off at my local liquor store too. In 6 months I'll be 65 and will be able to get Medicaid.

Great to be an old guy!

I have not seen anything posted by RiverBird lately.

Anyone know if she is OK or just taking a break?

I sent CCc girl a direct message a while ago, no response.

I kind of think RiverBird could have gone on vacation so I'm waiting a little bit before sending her a DM.

NYgal: I sent a DM also a while ago. I wish there were someway to contact people on here to know if they are OK. This happened with Knoxgarden and I had to do alot of searching before I found her garden club and learned that she had passed. I am sure no mod would give us info so we could search for her, but I continue to wish there was a way. We just must hope all is ok.

PhxBarb, I did see a recent post from RiverBird in Retirement (can't remember the thread). So she is back on. Oh, I think the thread was about memory.

I've been meaning to share this quote from Gregory Benford's The Sunborn novel:

Quote:
But remember motto: age and cunning can defeat youth and strength anytime.
Brought a smile to my face, hope you enjoy it too!
